Six inmates of Saharsa jail on indefinite fast

Saharsa : The supporters of six undertrial prisoners of Saharsa divisional jail, who are on indefinite fast for the last three days to press their demands including Jail Suprintendent and Karapal for allegedly misusing their official position, on May 6, 2017, blocked Saharsa -Madhepura road at village Patuaha on NH 107 for half an hour.

A Sadar police station, Saharsa, team reached the spot and got the road blockade removed. Police also arrested around a dozen youth for blocking the road. The six undertrial prisoners, in a memorandum sent to Saharsa DM, have alleged that Ganja, Corex and other drugs were being sold inside Saharsa division jail and notorious criminals lodged in the jail often assault other inmates.
