Ara : A shopkeeper outraged modesty of a Class III girl at village Jagdishpur under the same police station on October 24, 2019. Later, the villagers caught the shopkeeper, thrashed him and handed him over to police. A named FIR was lodged by Women’s police station, Ara, in this connection on the statement of the brother of the girl. Police are investigating the matter.
SHO, Jagdishpur police station, said that a Cass III girl went to an electronics shop at Mangari Chowk at Jagdishpur village to get an LED bulb repaired. Shopkeeper Md Naseen decoyed the girl and took her inside the shop and outraged her modesty. The shopkeeper gave Rs 40 to her after and also threatened to kill her brother if she dared disclose the matter to anyone. The girl somehow escaped from the spot and narrated her ordeal to her family members.
The incident agitated the villagers and they thrashed the accused and handed him over to police. Police brought the girl over to Ara Sadar Hospital for medical examination and produced her before the court to get her statement recorded under Section 164 of C. The doctor preserved her undergarments to send them to the Forensic Science Laboratory for examination. hojpur SP Sushil Kumar confirmed the arrest of the accused.
