Ara : Station House Officer (SHO), Dumraon police station, Subodh Kumar, has been removed and replaced by Shiv Narayan Ram, SHO, Industrial Police Station, Buxar, in the wake of hurling of stones by miscreants on CM Nitish Kumar’s carcade at village Nandan under Dumraon block in Buxar district on January 12, 2018.

Subodh Kumar was injured and undergoing treatment at Patna. Police have arrested 30 persons so far in connection with the incident.

Commissioner, Patna Division, Anand Kishore, and IG, Patna zone, Nayyar Hasnain Khan, are inquiring into the incident following the directive of the chief minister. The CM had gone to village Nandan as part of his statewide ‘Vikas Samiksha Yatra’. When he was on his way to the meeting venue to address a public meeting, some people including women hurled stones on his carcade in which over two dozen persons including few mediapersons were injured though the CM himself was unharmed.

During their interrogation, few women involved in stone pelting, allegedly revealed that JD(U) MLA from Dumraon, Dadan Yadav alias Dadan Pahalwan, and Mukhia, Nandan panchayat, Rajiv Kumar, had prompted them to resort to brickbatting on the carcade of the CM. Sources said that Dadan Pahlwan is quite popular among Yadavs of his area but was losing his popularity ever since RJD chief Lalu Prasad was convicted in a fodder scam recently and sent to jail.
