Ara : Seven persons including five women were killed in separate incidents at different places in Bhojpur district in last 24 hours. Police brought the bodies over to Sadar Hospital, Ara, for post-mortem.
Mahabali Pandey, 18, son of Sanjay Pandey of village Babura under Barhara police station was killed on October 3, 2018, when his motorcycle collided head-on with a speeding truck near Babura. SHO, Barhara police station, Uday Pratap Singh, said that Mahabali was going to Doriganj in Saran district to bring back his mother.
The irate residents of the area went on rampage after the accident and blocked Ara-Chhapra main road. They also damaged several vehicles including truck parked on the roadside. Later, police succeeded in removing the blockade and took the body under their custody.
A ten year old boy Ankush Kumar, son of Manoj Kumar of Kharaicha village under Agiaw police station, drowned to death in the canal of the village on October 2, 2018, evening, when he was taking bath in the canal. The villagers fished out his body and informed police, who brought over the body to the Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.
Babita Kuer alias Poonam, 38, wife of late Dhoda Sao of village Jamalpur under Koelwar police station met her watery grave while taking a dip in river Ganga at Babura ghat under Barhara police station on October 2 evening. She had gone there along with other women of the village to take a dip during ‘Jiutia’ festival. The villagers fished out the body and handed it over to police, the SHO said.
In another incident, Mamata Kumari, 18, daughter of Krishna Rao of Kutubpur Dera under Barhara police station drowned while taking bath in river Ganga along with her friends at Babura ghat on October 2 evening. Police rushed to the spot and with the help of villagers fished out her body and brought it over to the Sadar Hospital.
Bhojpur police recovered body of a sixty year old unidentified woman from a canal at Ojhawalia village under Chauri police station on October 3, 2018, morning, and brought it over to the Sadar Hospital for postmortem, said SHO, Chauri police station.
A sexagenarian Urmila Devi, wife of late Ramrekha Rai of Bagahi village under Garkha police station in Saran district, was crushed to death near Manichhapara under Barhara police station on October 2, 2018, evening, by a speeding vehicle. Later, police brought the body over to the Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. SHO, Barhara police station, said that Urmila Devi had come to Manichhapara to along with her son Pankaj Kumar on a motorcycle to offer prayer at the temple when a speeding truck collided head on with the motorcycle killing her on spot while her son was injured.
In yet another incident, Kishor Kumar, 16, was killed while two others injured when a three-wheeler dashed against an electric pole on the roadside near Basawan Tola village under Piro police station on October 3. Police brought the body over to the Sadar Hospital for post-mortem and admitted the injured there.
