Muzaffarpur : Police, after a hot chase, seized a Green Scorpio near Sri Krishna Medical College Hospital (SKMCH), Muzaffarpur, and arrested seven criminals including its driver for smuggling Ganja and liquor on Sep. Police seized Ganja, foreign liquor bottles, countrymade pistol, live rounds and mobile phones from the vehicle and their possession. The Scorpio was coming from Sitamarhi side.
Police under the leadership of City SP, on a tip off, were searching for the vehicle beneath an overbridge near SKMCH. When they waved to Scorpio driver to stop, he sped away but was soon intercepted.
The arrested criminals, during their interrogation, admitted their involvement in incidents of vehicle loot, road robbery and dacoity besides smuggling liquor and Ganja after prohibition was enforced in Bihar in April 2016. They admitted their involvement in loot of Biscuit under Sahebganj police station and Chocolate under Paroo police stations in Muzaffarpur district and Coriander under Ujiarpur police station in Samastipur district in recent months.
The arrested criminals were arrested identified as Ramesh Kumar, Bochaha, Muzaffarpur, Raju Kumar, Samastipur, Dipak Kumar alias Saket, Mahnar ( Vaishali), Raju Kumar Rai, Samastipur, Dipak Kumar Singh alias Sonu, Balia (UP), Vinay Kumar Rai, Hemanpur Dhamour (Samastipur), and Vikas Kumar, Rajapakar, (Vaishali).
