Buxar : Some armed persons shot dead Gopal Dubey, 20, son of Santosh Dubey near Babanagar locality under Industrial Police Station in Buxar district on September 9, 2017, and escaped. Irate residents of the area blocked the Buxar-Ara road with the body for about three hours paralysing the movement of vehicles. They burnt tyres on the road and raised slogans against Buxar district administration. They were demanding immediate arrest of the miscreants and compensation to the next of kin of the deceased.
Police sources said that Gopal Dubey was an Intermediate student and was going to a coaching centre for tuition at about 8am on September 9 but was shot dead by some armed persons near the Industrial police station in Babanagar locality and escaped. The blockade was lifted after the positive response from police officials. Later, police brought the body to Buxar Sadar Hospital for pos-tmortem.
