Saharsa : Saharsa DM Vinod Singh Gunjiyal on September 8, 2017, recommended for disqualification of Zila Parishad (ZP) Member from Ward Number 9, Mahishi, Sujata Kumari, to Panchayati Raj Department, Bihar government, for staging gherao of Mahishi Block Headquarters with her supporters without permission from the district administration.
DM Gunjiyal’s recommendation for disqualification of Zila Parishad Member Sujata Kumari follows report of SDO, Saharsa, Saurabh Jorwal, that Sujata Kumari had allegedly created obstacle in the relief distribution among flood affected people by staging gherao of the Mahishi Block Headquarters on September 8. SDO Jorwal had also got an FIR lodged against Sujata Kumari and her husband Bechan Ram with Mahishi police station on September 8. Sujata Kumari had staged gherao of Mahishi Blok Headquarters to demand adequate relief distribution among flood affected people belonging to villages located east of East Kosi Embankment.
SDO Jorwal said that Zila Parishad Member Sujata Kumari had asked for permission to stage gherao of Mahishi Block Headquarters on September 7, 2017, but he had refused permission for it in views of the on going relief distribution work.
