Ara : Over 200 students of Jagdishpur High School blocked the Jagdishpur-Ara NH 30 near Tenduni Chowk in Bhojpur district for about two hours on August 1, 2017. They burnt tyres on the road and paralysed movement of vehicles. They were protesting denial of cycle and scholarship to the students by the school administration.

The school students alleged that at least 149 students are enrolled in Class IX of the school but names of only 52 of them having 75 % attendance were recommended for cycle  and scholarship while most of them regularly attend their classes. They alleged that the teachers demands Rs 200 for marking them present.

But, the Headmaster of the school refuted the charge and said teachers never demand money. A list of students having 75% attendance in their class was sent to the bank and the amount for cycle scholarship is being transferred to the bank account of the students through RTGS.
