Patna: A division bench of Supreme Court (SC) comprising Justice P C Ghosh and Justice Amitabh Rai deferred till Thursday hearing of petitions filed by Bihar government and Chandrakeshwar Prasad alias Chanda Babu seeking cancellation of grant of bail to RJD leader and former Siwan MP Mohammad Shahabuddin.
The court heard arguments of Prashant Bhushan, who appeared on behalf of Chanda Babu, and Shahabuddin’s lawyer and posted hearing to Thursday. Prashan Bhushan argued people of Siwan were feeling unsafe due to the release of Shahbuddin on bail since September 7 when he was granted bail by Patna High Court.
