Sitamarhi:: The Houseguards of Sitamarhi SDPO Rajiv Ranjan fired seven rounds in the air to disperse an
unruly mob on Wednesday at Dumra. The residents of Kailashpuri colony were demanding rescue of a missing youth  Rakesh Kumar, 22, who jumped into river Lakhandei for fun and bath on Wednesday but did not return. The incident took place around noon.

The locals informed the administration several times but no rescue team reached for two hours. This infuriated the locals who blocked Sitamarhi-Muzaffarpur NH 77 near Dumra court. Later on, they allegedly tried to forcibly enter the adjoining SDPO residence that led to clash and firing. Till the time of filing the report, police sources did
not confirm the firing in the air. Around 4pm, the NDRF team reached the site and started search operation to fish out the body. Rakesh Kumar is a native of village Harpur under Suppi block and lived at Kailashpuri colony in a rented house.
