Sasaram : A Sasaram court on June 8, 2017, completed trial in the murder case of the then Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Sanjay Singh in Rohtas district and will pronounce the judgement on June 21, 2017.
Naxalites had kidnapped the Rohtas DFO Sanjay Singh from Rihal located in Kaimur hills on February 15, 2002, and later shot him dead. Five persons: Nirala Yadav, Ram Bachan Yadav, Nitish, Sudama Uraon and Lalan Singh Kharwar were made named accused in the case.
The government had handed over investigation of the case to the CBI and its advocate from New Delhi had pleaded for the CBI while Shahnawaz Ahmad represented the accused side. The CBI had already given its written statement in the court. After completion of hearing from the accused side on June 8, the District and Sessions Judge Prabhunath Singh fixed June 21 to pronounce the judgement.
