Sitamarhi : Body of gangster and People’s Liberation Army chief Santosh Jha, who was shot dead on Sitamarhi court premises on August 28, 2018, afternoon, by his three rivals, was consigned to flames at his native village Dostiya under Piprahi police station in Sheohar district amid tight security arrangements on August 29, 2018. A large number of villagers participated in the last right. His daughter lit the funeral pyre.
The CJM office, Sitamarhi, peon Santosh Kumar Sinha who had sustained a bullet injury in his arm in the shootout on August 28, was operated upon at a local nursing home and is said to be out of life danger. An FSL team from Patna visited and collected samples from the place of occurrence. They pinpointed a few shortcomings in the security arrangements.
One of the assailants Vikas Kumar, who was arrested while escaping after the shootout on August 28, said after his arrest that he had taken revenge of his father’s killing. On investigation, it was found that his father is alive in a East Champaran village. As per police sources, he had tried to mislead the police.
Meanwhile, Sitamarhi DM, SP and District and Session Judge held a meeting at Sitamarhi to review security on court premises.
