Patna: Top seed Rafael Nadal of Spain reached US Open tennis Men’s final for the fourth time in his career on September 8, 2017, defeating Argentina’s 24th seed Juan Martin del Porto in four sets 4-6, 6-0, 6-3, 6-2. He had  won the US Open title in 2010 and 2013. He will face 28th seed Kevin Anderson of South Africa in the final on September 10 for a 16th Grand Slam titles.

Spaniard Nadal, 31,  has a 4-0 career record against Anderson. Nadal is now 9-5 against del Porto Head to Head. Nadal, after the match,  described del Porto as a great opponent. Anderson, 31, defeated 12th seed Spainiard Pablo Carreno Busta in four sets 4-6, 7-5, 6-3, 6-4. This will be 23rd major final for Nadal and first for Anderson.
