Patna : South Africa (SA) were 292/5 at tea on Day 3 in their first innings in 1st Test against India at Dr Y SRajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapartnam, on October 4, 2019, with ope ner Dean Elgar unbeaten on 133 in 250 balls hitting 14 fours and 4 sixes and Quinton de Kock (wk) batting on 69 in 98 balls with 11 fours and a six. Elgar and de Kock have added 114 runs so far in an unbroken partnership for 6th wicket.
SA lost only one wicket that of captain Faf du Plessis in the 2nd session on Day 3. Du Plessis fell to spinner Ravichandra Ashwin for 55 in 103 balls with 8 fours and a six. Du Plessis and Elgar added 115 runs for the 5th wicket.
For India, Ashwin has taken 3/98 in 29 overs while fast bowler Ishant Sharma has taken 1/34 in 11 overs. Ravindra Jadeja has taken 1/82 in 24 o vers.
