Rs 5 lakh demanded from medical practitioner in W Champaran

Bettiah : Ramesh Prasad, a medical practitioner of Sheoganj ward number 8, Nagar Parishad, Narakatiaganj, under Shikarpur police station in West Champaran district received an extortion message on December 10, 2017, night, with  demanding Rs 5 lakh from him.

Ramesh Prasad received the message from mobile number 9470041525 on his mobile 9934842042. The sender of the message asked him to send a Rangdari ( extortion amount) of Rs 5 lakh on December 11 evening at rail level crossing or face elimination. Ramesh Prasad lodged a complaint with Shikarpur police station in this connection. SHO, Shikarpur police station,  C P Gupta said police are investigating into the case and searching for the person who sent the message.

It may be recalled here that some miscreants had demanded Rs 1 lakh from Sugarcane Development Minister Khurshid alias Feroz Ahmad on December 9, 2017, evening. The Minister represents Sikta constituency in West Champaran district in Bihar Assembly.
