Nawada: Miscreants set ablaze the office as well as the vehicle of the Circle Officer (CO) of Roh block in Nawada district on December 11, 2017, afternoon, besides disrupting the construction of Samrigarh village road under the Pradhan Mantri Sadak Yojna.
Nawada SP, Civil SDO concerned as well as the police force belonging to neighbouring police stations such as Warisaliganj, Pakribarma, Rupoh and Kauakol rushed to the spot. After a mild lathicharge, the mob dispersed and a few persons were arrested for arson.
According to reports, some villagers were sitting on protest demanding the road be diverted alongside the earthen village canal (payeen) instead of constructing it through the agricultural field. When the CO was pacifying the protestors, some miscreants set afire
the CO’s office and vehicle. Several office records were gutted in the fire.
