Patna : Rajasthan Royals (RR) beat Mumbai Indians (MI) by 8 wickets in the 45th match of IPL at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi, UAE, on October 25, 2020, late night, as all-rounder Ben Stokes scored an unbeaten 107 in 60 balls hitting 14 fours and 3 sixes while Sanju Samson (wk) scored an unbeaten 54 in 31 balls with 4 fours and 3 sixes.
Stokes and Samson added 152 runs in their unbroken partnership for the 3rd wicket. Replying to MI’s 195/5 in 20 overs, RR scored 196/2 in 18.2 overs. RR captain Steven Smith scored 11 while opener Robin Uthappa scored 13.
MI had won the toss and opted to bat. Rohit Sharma did not play in the match due to injury. For MI, all-rounder Hardik Pandya scored an unbeaten 60 in 21 balls hitting 2 fours and 7 sixes. Stand in captain Keiron Pollard scored 6 runs.
It was RR’s 5th win in 12 matches and they have now 10 points. For MI, it was their 4th defeat in 11 matches and they have 14 points.
