Rohtas DEO suspends Headmaster for irregularities in MDM

Sasaram : District Education Officer (DEO), Rohtas, on June 7, 2017, suspended the Headmaster (HM), Upgraded Middle School, Akoda, under Dawath block in Rohtas district, Kamal Deo Pandey, in connection with large scale irregularities in the Mid-day Meal (MDM) scheme. The DEO has also recommended departmental proceeding against him.

The villagers had complained that HM Pandey often remains absent from the school, committed largescale irregularities in the Midday Meal and responsible for theft of pots and utensils meant for the MDM. The DEO had directed BEO, Gulam Muztaba, to inquire into the matter. The BEO found the complaint correct and submitted his report to the DEO. Sources said that a number of complaints against several HMs were pending at the office of the DEO for long but no action had so far been taken against them.

The DEO said that he had taken all the complaints seriously and had ordered inquiry into them. He said action would be taken after submission of inquiry report against the HMs found guilty.
