Bokaro ( Jharkhand) : DAV school, Bokaro, students on January 9 took out a rally with placards in their hands to observing Road Safety Week and requesting everyone to follow the dos and don’ts of road safety including wearing of helmets, wearing of safety belts and no drunk driving. The rally which started from sector IV school campus and went up tol Gandhi Chowk covering about 1.5 km. Bokaro SP Y S Ramesh also paraded along with the students.
“Safety on road is not just a slogan it’s a way of life which everyone must follow. Everyday hundreds of people die on road as traffic rules are not followed strictly which is for safety of everyone. Rise in road accidents is being witnessed every year due to negligent driving and people ignoring the safety rules. I will start a big drive all over the district to check road accidents , ” said the SP who showed his deep concern over two deaths and 6 persons getting injured in Bokaro in last 24 hours. DAV students appealed all drivers to follow the basic road safety measures of wearing helmets, use seat belt and maintain the speed limit on road.
