Saharsa : Saharsa police on January 9 busted a racket of carrying goods on trucks bearing fake numbers. Several truck owners are allegedly involved in the racket busted Sadar police station, Saharsa, which seized a truck and arrested Majid Khan, brother of a truck owner.

On January 9, a truck bearing fake registration number was loading goods near Tiwary Chowk, Saharsa. Police, on a tip off, looked into the documents of the truck and found its number fake. SHO, Sadar police station, Bhai Bharath, said that the racket was running for the last several years and truck with fake numbers used to disappear after loading goods from different places. At times even the drivers used to disappear.

The SHO said that the truck, which was seized on January 9, was bearing the number of a pick-up van while its actual number was inside the truck. The owner of pick-up van hails from Bagdogra in Bengal.
