Rly functioning exposed as two trains cross unlocked level crossing

Bagaha : Two major rail accidents could have taken place in a span of 16 hours on Narakatiaganj – Gorakhpur rail section under Samastipur division of East Central Railways(ECR), Hajipur.

Sources said that a rail accident did occurr at a manned rail level crossing no.62C near Madanpur Deviasthan on February 19 around 8.40 pm when Motihari bound Champaran Styagrah express (14010 Down) coming from Delhi  dashed a Beloro because the rail crossing gate was open but the occupants of the vehicle escaped unhurt as they saw the the headlight of the rail engine and jumped down from the vehicle in time. The vehicle was badly  damaged.

Another train accident was everted on February 20, 2017, when Raxaul bound Satyagrah express train (125274 Dn) from Delhi had to pass an open manned rail level crossing gate ( 50T) near Bagaha railway station. But, the pedestrians as well as drivers of vehicles escaped due to their alertness, sources said.
