RJD condemns lathicharge on Nonia Beldar Sangh procession

Patna : A procession taken out by Nonia and Beldaar Sangh turned violent near Hartaali Mor, Patna, on July 22, 2018, when police stopped the processionists from moving towards CM Secretariat.

Police had to resort to lathicharge to disperse the processionists when they started pelting them with stones, said SHO, Kotwali police station, adding 9 persons were arrested in this connection. There were  several women and children in the procession taken out to press its demand for inclusion of Nonias & Beldars into Scheduled Castes.

Bihar RJD President Ram Chandra Purve and Vice-President Tanveer Hassan strongly condemned the lathicharge on the procession and demanded action against police officials resonsible for it. The RJD has  supported the demand of Nonia and Beldars for their inclusion into Scheduled Castes.
