5 held at Saharsa in connection with religious conversion racket

Saharsa : Cracking whip on a religious conversion racket, police on July 22, 2018, arrested five persons including the key accused Krishnadan Yadav and his close associate Gorakhnath from Shardanagar locality, Saharsa. Those arrested persons include two women.

Around 200 persons allegedly involved in the racket managed to escape. All the five persons were arrested from the house of one Charan Singh, Shardanagar, under Sadar police station, Saharsa. Police have sealed the two storied house besides seizing two Sound Box, CDs, Books, and several incriminating materials from there.

SDM, Saharsa, Shambhunath Jha, said that since the matter concerns religious conversion so it was being inquired into from different angles. Krishnandan Yadav claimed that he simply narrates the preachings of Lord Christ before the people and was not at all involved in any religious conversion.

A large number of people from outside had gathered near the house of Charan Singh on July 22. When police reached there and talked to them, they said that preparation was on for religious conversion there. Soon SDM Jha, SHO, Sadar Police Station, R K Singh, reached there with force and arrested the main accused Krishnandan Yadav and 4 others. Krishnandan Yadav is a native of Badlaghat in Khagaria district while Gorakhnath is a native of Naubatpur, Patna.
