RJD chief Lalu Prasad convicted in 4th Fodder scam case

Ranchi : In a major blow to RJD chief and former Bihar CM Lalu Prasad, a Special CBI court, Ranchi, on March 19, 2018, convicted him in a Fodder scam case involving fraudulent drawal of  Rs 3.15 crore from Dumka Treasury around 20 years back.

The court convicted 19 accused in the case including Lalu and acquitted 12 accused including former Bihar CM Jagannath Mishra. It is the fourth fodder scam case that Lalu has been convicted by the court. The quantum of punishment would be pronounced later this week.

Lalu Munda is in Birsa Munda Jail, Ranchi, since December 23, 2018, following his conviction in a Fodder scam case on that day. He is at present at RIMS, Ranchi, for the last three days due to illness.
