Dhanbad ( Jharkhand) : In a move to make  the coal capital of  the country,  Dhanbad, more clean and green and rid it 0f the tag of being the dirtiest city of the country, Dhanbad municipal corporation(DMC) has launched `Swachhta Abhiyan –Ek Jan Andolan’ which kicked off on January 3with more than 7,000 residents led by DMC Mayor Chandrashekhar Agrawal, town commissioner Manoj Kumar, religious preacher Rameshbhai  Ojha and others   cleaning the main road of the city starting from Bank Mor. The drive started from Bank  More around 10.30 am and reached Shakti Mor  in the main city in next 90 minutes.

Noted religious storyteller Rameshbhai Ojha told the people that keeping city and environment clean was the first duty of  every citizen irrespective of community and clan. He took broom in his hand and  along with others cleaned  the roads.

Mayor C S Agarwal and town commissioner  Manoj Kumar stated that thousands of citizens of Dhanbad were  cooperating in making the city clean, green and more livable. The way the cleanliness drive is going on with the support of common masses,  we are confident that Dhanbad will emerge as one of very high ranking clean cities in the country. “We roped in the religious storyteller Ojhaji  because he was in city and readily agreed to cooperate in the mission  of making Dhanbad  clean and better living city,” said Manoj Kumar.
