RCB score 158/4 against RR in 14th match of IPL-12

Patna : Royal Challengers Namgalore (RCB) scored a modest 158/4 in 20 overs against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 14th match of IPL-12 at Sawai Man Singh Stadium, Jaipur, Rajasthan, on April 2, 2019, with wicketkeeper and opener Parthiv Patel scoring 67 runs in 41 balls hitting 9 fours and a six and allrounder Marcus Stoinis scoring an unbeaten 31 in 28 balls hitting 2 fours and a six. Moeen Ali remained unbeaten on 18 in 9 balls hitting 2 fours and a six. RR won the toss but opted to bowl.

Batting first, openers Virat Kohli and Parthiv Patel made a solid start adding 49 runs for the first wicket. But, Kohli fell to spinner Shreyas Gopal for 23 in 25 balls hitting 3 fours making it 49/1 and continuing his flop show in IPL-12. A B de Villiers also fell to Gopal for 13 making it 71/2. Shimron Hetmyer too fell to Gopal for just 1 run. Parthiv Patel fell to Jofra Archer.

For RR, Gopal took 3/12 in 4 overs while Archer took 1/47 in 4 overs. Although spinner Krishnappa Gowtham did not get any wicket but he conceded just 19 runs in his 4 overs. The two spinner conceded just 31 runs in 8 overs restricting the RCB scoring rate.
