Police seize Rs 39 lakh in Bagaha during vehicle checking drive

Bagaha : A Bagaha Town Police Station team on April 2, 2019, seized Rs 39 lakh cash during a vehicle  checking drive on NH 727 near the police station from the owners of different vehicles.

Bagaha SP Arvind Kumar Gupta confirmed that Rs 20 lakh out the Rs 39 lakh seized belonged to a bank and was being carried by a bank employee for the ATMs without security force. The SP said that without permission of Election Commission of India no one can carry more than Rs 50,ooo cash. It was violation of Model Code of Conduct, he said. The cash seized by police will be submitted to the Income-Ttax department  for necessary  action, the SP said.
