Raonic, Wawrinka enter 2nd round of Queen’s Club Championships

Patna : World No 18 Milos Raonic, 28, Canada, and World No 19 Stan Wawrinka, 34, Switzerland, advanced to the second round of Queen’ Club Championships, a ATP World Tour 500 points tournament also known as Fever-Tree Championships, at London, Great Britain, on June 19, 2019.

Raonic beat World No 40 Marco Cecchinato, 26, Italy, 6-3, 6-2 in the first round in 68 minutes. Raonic hammered 24 Aces in the match to 4 by Cecchinato. The Canadian also won 3 break points besides winning 5 games in a row in the match.

Wawrinka, the winner of three Grand Slam singles titles, beat World No 63 Dan Evans, 29, Great Britain, 6-3, 6-4 in the first round. Wawrinka won 2 break points besides winning 3 games in a row in the match. Wawrinka fired 7 Aces in the match to just 1 by Evans.Wawrinka won 43 service points to33 by Evans.

World No 12 Juan Martin del Porto, Argentina, beat World No 25 Denis Shapovalov, 20, Canada, 7-5, 6-4 in the first round. Delpo fired 11 Aces in the match to 10 by Shapovalov.  Delpo has, however, withdrawn from the tournament due to knee injury giving an easy passage to the quarter-finals to Feliciano Lopez, Spain, his 2nd round opponent.
