Ara: The office of the Governor cum Chancellor has summoned the Registrar of Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU), Ara,  with all details of realization of money from the students in the name of holding `Eklavya' and `Tarang’ Sports events.

Former Senator, VKSU, Ajay Kumar Tiwari alias Munmun Tiwari had sought information about the money realized from the students in the name of Eklavya and Tarang from the Vice-Chancellor, VKSU, under the Right to Information (RTI) Act  and when the university denied to impart information to him, he moved the State Information Commission. The Raj Bhavan sent letters and reminders several times to the VKSU seeking detailed information about the money realized from the students but the VKSU administration did not provide the information to the governor.

Special Work Officer (judiciary),  Raj Bhavan, A L Srivastava sent a letter to the VKSU asking the Registrar of the VKSU to come to the Raj Bhavan with all details about the money realized from the students in the name of Eklavya and Tarang. It has also asked for report on the present position of sports in the university and what it is doing to improve standard of sports. It was said in the letter that hearing is on over the issue in the State Information Commission and the date for next hearing is fixed on November 15.
