Patna: Divisional railway manager (DRM),  Danapur, R K Jha on Tuesday suspended an engineer on charges of derelction of duty in maintenance of railway track at Baruna near Buxar on Mughalsarai-Patna section. Two wheels of a sleeper coach of Amritsar-Howarah Punjab mail had derailed on Monday night resulting in suspension of movement of trains on the section. No one was injured in the incident though.

Railway services were restored at about 7 am on Tuesday morning. Delhi-Patna Rajdhani was delayed by over four hours due to derailment of Punjab Mail ‘s S 8 coach. All major trains on Mughalsari-Patna section remained stranded at different stations in UP and beyond Buxar stations. Sampoorna Kranti, Shramjeevi, Toofan mail trains were delayed by six to seven hours. A three-member inquiry committee has been set up by DRM to probe the derailment.
