Raid at sweetmeats factory at Ara

Ara : Food Security Officer, Ara, Ajay Kumar Singh, on a tip off, conducted raid at a sweetmeats factory at Bihari Mill under Nawada police station in Bhojpur district on October 27, 2018, and seized sweetmeats creating ripples among the sweet makers of Ara.

Ajay Kumar Singh said that he got information that some sweetmeats of sub-standard quality were being produced at a factory at Bihari Mill under Nawada police station, Ara. He immediately swung into action and conducted raid at the factory and seized sweetmeats. He said that samples of the seized sweetmeats would, be sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory, Patna, for test and if their quality was found below standard, action would be taken against the factory owner. He said that the factory has no license for making sweetmeats and so he had earlier sent a notice to him to close the factory but he did comply with his order.
