Property dealer’s wife shot dead at Gaya

Gaya : Two armed criminals shot dead Puja Devi, 23, wife of a property dealer Prakash Chandra alias Tannu, 25, in Chiraiyatand locality under Rampur police station  in Gaya district at 11.30 pm on March 25, 2017. Prakash, in an FIR lodged with Rampur police station, said that they were about to go to bed when an unidentified person came and demanded money from him and started abusing him when he refused to pay him any amount. This led to heated exchange  between him and the stranger, Prakash said adding suddenly another person entered the room and fired at Puja killing her on the spot.

Puja, whose father is an employee of Department of Post and hails from Atri police station area in Gaya district, was married to Prakash in December 2015. Police are still groping in dark about the identity of the two criminals as the recording by the CCTV installed outside the room was found blocked, said an SI of Rampur police station. He said that police were yet to speak to Puja’s father, mother and brother on the matter. Police wonder how the two criminals could murder a woman at her house located beside the house of a senior RJD legislator. Police are also probing as to why the door of the room was kept open till late in the night.
