Ara : A pregnant woman Khusboo was burnt to death allegedly by her in-laws at village Haradiya under Jagdishpur police station in Bhojpur district on July 5, 2017,  for a motorcycle. The body was disposed of to wipe out any evidence. Later, her in-laws escaped from the village.

Kushboo, daughter of Nirmal Singh of village Masadh under Gajrajganj police outpost in Bhojpur district, was married to Bheem Singh, son of Rajendra Singh of village Haradiya, a year ago and was  pregnant.

Om Prakash Singh, brother of the deceased, alleged that her in-laws had been putting pressure on her for a motorcycle and when their demand was not fulfilled, they killed his sister. He said that Khusboo’s  in-laws informed him on mobile on July 4 that his sister was ill. When he tried to talk to his sister, her in-laws informed that she did not want to talk to him, Om Prakash alleged. He was planning to go to his sister’s sasural when the villagers informed him that the Khusboo’s in-laws had set her ablaze after beating her.

The villagers also said that Khusboo’s in-laws burnt her and when the body was not completely burnt in one attempt, they sprinkled kerosene oil on her and burnt her completely and disposed of her body, Om Prakash said. Om Prakash said that he along with some people of his village rushed to Haradiya but found the gate of the house open and none of the family members was present there.

SHO, Jagdishpur police station, said that police rushed to the spot immediately after they got information of the incident but no application was given to police by the deceased family so far. He said that the FIR will be lodged after the family members of the deceased give an application.
