Patna : World No B Sai Praneeth, 27, India, beat World No 21 Lu Guang Zu, 22, China, on September 19, 2019, to enter the men’s singles quarter-finals of Victor China Open, an HSBC BWF World Tour Super 1,000 Badminton tournament, at Changzhou, China.

Praneeth beat Lu Guang Zu in a tough contest 21-19, 21-19 in 48 minutes in 2nd round at Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium, Changzhou, to enter the QFs. Praneeth won 42 rallies in the match to 38 by Zu. Both the players won 4 consecutive points each in the match. The two players are now locked 1-1 Head to Head.

But, World No 35 Parupalli Kashyap, 33, India, went down fighting to World No 9 Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, 22, Indonesia, 21-23, 21-15, 12-21 in 70 minutes in 2nd round. Ginting won 59 rallies in the match to 54 by Kashyap. Ginting now leads Kashyap 5-0 Head to Head.
