Patna : World No 84 Prajnesh Gunneswaran, 29, India, will face World No 61 Jaume Munar, 21, Spain, in the first round of ATP Miami Masters at Hard Rock Stadium, Florida, USA, on March 22, 2019.
Prajnesh qualified for the main draw of the tournament after defeating two players : Adrian Menendez Maceiras, Spain, and Jay Clarke, UK, in the qualifiers. He will be playing his second ATP Masters tournament. He had reached 3rd round of ATP Indian Wells Masters at California, USA, last week as a qualifier.
World No 80 Guido Andreozzi, 27, Argentina, entered the second round of the tournament defeating World No 43 Mikhail Kukushkin, 31, Kazakhstan, 7-6, 6-4 in the first round on March 21, 2019. Andreozzi fired 6 Aces in the match to 2 by Kukushkin. Andreozzi broke Kukushkin’s service thrice while the latter broke his service twice in the match.
World No 54 Hubert Hurkacz, 22, Poland, also entered the 2nd round defeating World No 52 Matteo Berrettini, 22, Italy, 6-4, 6-3 in the first round. Both the players served 3 Aces each in the match. Hurkacz broke Berrettini’s service thrice in the match while the latter broke his service only once.
