Bokaro ( Jharkhand) : Promising to fulfil the commitment of economic development of Eastern India, a mission of PM Narendra Modi, Union Petroleum & Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on August 11,2019, stated at Bokaro Steel City that his ministry is investing Rs 10,000 crore in petroleum sector which will not only generate thousands of job but will also lead to economic growth of the nation.
Pradhan was addressing ann impressive gathering at Sector V ground of Bokaro Steel City after laying online foundation for an oil depot ( POL Terminal) at Radha Gaon in Bokaro district and an LPG  Bottling point in Bokaro industrial area in the presence of Jharkhand CM Raghubar Das
 The oil depot worth Rs 250 crore shall come upon 73 acre  land while the LPG Cylinder refill plant worth Rs 100 crore will be set up on 20 acre land.
Pradhan said that the petroleum demand of Jhatkhand has gone up by over 61 % in last 4 years which indicates the social and economic growth of this state. Pradhan, who also holds the Steel portfolio,  informed that the steel production of the country will touch 300 million  metric tons by 2030 in which Jharkhand will be a major contributor.
Speaking on the occasion, Jharkhand CM  Raghubar Das said that the new petroleum units in Bokaro will generate  employment to at least 1,000 persons directly besides giving indirect employment to several thousands more.
 As a Rakhi gift to more than 42 lakh consumer  of the state covered under Ujjawala Yojna, CM Raghubar Das promised that the state government will to give second LPG cylinder  free of cost to the beneficiaries. The crowd cheered the announcement.
Giridih MP C P Chowdhry, Dhanbad MP P N Singh, Purilia MP J M Mahto, local MLAs, Bokaro DC Kripanand Jha, DIG Prabhat Kumar were prominent among those present on the occasion.and others were present on the occasion.
