Patna : Captain Virat Kohli hit his 42nd ODI century in the 2nd ODI against West Indies (WI) at Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad, on August 11, 2019. Kohli fell to fast bowler Carlos Brathwaite for 120 in 125 balls with 14 fours and a six.

Opting to bat after winning the toss, India had scored 233/4 in 42.2 overs when play was stopped due to rain. India lost the wicket of opener Shokhar Dhawan with only 2 runs on board.  Kohli then added 74 runs for the 2nd wicket with opener and vice-captain Rohit Sharma. Rishabh pant (wk) fell to Brathwaite for 20 making it 101/3. Kohli and Shreyas Iyer added 125 runs for the 4th wicket. India lost the wicket of Kohli when the score was 226. Kohli is now highest run scorer against WI in the ODIs. Rohit Sharma scored 18 in 34 balls. He was clearly not in his element.

Iyer was batting on 58 in 55 balls with 5 fours while Kedar Jadhav was batting on 6 when play was stopped due to rain. Brathwaite had taken 2/39 in 8 overs.
