Prabhu flags off Ara- Patna passenger train

Ara: Raiwayl Minister Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu on Monday flagged off the 63213/14 Ara-Patna MEMU Passenger train from New Delhi through video conferencing. Speaking on the occasion, the rail minister said with the start of this train, daily passengers of Ara and Patna would benefit a lot.

At Ara railway station, Ara MP R K Singh said that Bhojpur district remained neglected for years but now he was bent on for its development and the start of this Memu train is just a step ahead in that direction. He said the NDA government has consented to make washing pit, two platforms, 20 feet wide foot overbridge with escalator connecting both ends of Ara railway stations, line maintenance site, lavatories and install drinking water vending machines at the platforms at the Ara railway station at an estimated cost of Rs 25 crore.

The BJP MP said the rail ministry has also decided  to start a train from Ara for Jharkhand after construction of  washing pit and line maintenance site. The Ara-Sasaram rail route would be electrified very soon and one or two new trains might run on this route from next budget session. He also said that a road overbridge has been tendered over the eastern railway crossing and work on this project would start within a month. He also said that the centre will also  open a medical college at Ara and a site has been earmarked for the same.

RMLA from Ara Nawaz Alam alias Anwar Alam submitted a memorandum to the DRM and demanded increasing the number of  trips of 13288 Rajendra Nagar-Durga Express and its  start from Buxar, increasing the number of trips of 12352 Rajendra Nagar-Howrah Superfast Express and its start from Ara, display of tourist guide showing sites of religious importance on Ara railway station campus, beatification of circulating area of Ara railway station, increasing number of reservation counters, run of an intercity train from Ara to Buxar, stoppage of Howrah-Haridwar (Upasana) Express, Ananya Express, Vikramshila Express, Sampurna Kranti Express at Ara as Ara is highest revenue collector next to Patna under Danapur rail division.
