Patna: Union agriculture and farmers welfare minister Radhamohan Singh on Monday inaugurated a five-day training programme for women engaged in ornamental fish production and management at the Indian Council of Agriculture Research’s eastern region centre here. Inaugurating the programme, Singh said the programme would help economic empowerment of women . Union government would give Rs 50,000 to each women engaged in the ornamental fish production. The remaining Rs 50,000 would be given by the state government.The programme was approved by the union agriculture ministry in 2010 but no action was taken to implement it in Bihar, he said.
