Bagaha : Thunderstorm with heavy rains lashed major parts of Valmikinagar in West Champaran district on June 2, 2019, evening, blowing away roofs of many thatched houses and houses made  of asbestos near old Triveni  Canal.

Anjali Yadav, 7, daughter of Lalbabu  Yadav, was killed, when a blowing tin sheet hit her near Gandak Barrage Gate No. 36, in Nepal side. Krishna Shah, Inspector Nepali police post at Triveni confirmed the report. Rajuo Sao, son of Bhuyali  Sao of Sheopuri  locality under  Valmikinagar police station in West Champaran district, sustained serious injuries and was admitted to Primary Health Centre (PHC), Valmikinagar.

Road communication between Bagaha -Valmikinagar remained disrupted for hours as trees uprooted in the thunderstorm were lying on the road. The power supply remains snapped as many electric poles were also uprooted. The prospect of  sugarcane and vegetables crops have  however, become  bright though mangoes and Litchi fruits  were  damaged.
