Potato dealer shot dead in Sitamarhi

Sitamarhi : Three unidentified bike borne criminals shot dead a wholesale potato dealer Ganesha Sah, 43, at his shop at his native village Suhai under Dumra police station in Sitamarhi district on August 8, 2018. Ganesha Sah died on the spot. The criminals fled away towards Sitamarhi after firing on him.

The villagers suspect that Sah was killed for refusing to pay ‘Rangdari’ (extortion amount) to the criminals. They blocked the NH 77 Sitamarhi -Muzaffarpur road for several hours. The Dumra police team had to face the ire of the people while handling the situation. The blockade was lifted after persuasion by local people’s representatives. Police are yet to arrest anyone in this connection.
