Bagaha : A team of Government officials led by SDM, Bagaha, Ghanshyam Meena, and SDPO Sanjive Kumar, on a tip off, on October 23, 2018, conducted raid at the clinic of allegedly a fake Gynaecologist Chhaya Nandini of Dumawalia locality under Ward No 9 of Nagar Parishad, Bagaha, in Bagaha police district, where an Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) Indu Devi alias Rekha of Primary Health Centre (PHC) under Bagaha -2 block, allegedly a broker, had brought over four pregnant women for delivery.
The team took Chhaya Nandini and AHSA Indu Devi under custody for interrogation after thorough check of the clinic during which some medicine normally used in delivery cases were also seized. The four pregnant women were identified as Manika Devi, Subhawati Devi, Manita Devi, and Sheela Devi. They were brought over from different places for delivery after extorting money from them. They told the team of officials that ASHA Indu Devi had brought them over here. A case was lodged with Pathakauli Police Outpost (OP) in this connection, according to SDM Meena.
Incharge, Pthakauli OP, Rajesh Kumar, is investigating the case.
