Patna : Police, on a tip off, seized 792 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and two motorcycles and arrested two liquor smugglers on August 13, 2018, from village Khakhan ke Dera e under Khwaspur Police Outpost in Bhojpur district.
The arrested liquor smugglers were identified as Manoj Singh and Praveen Kumar of Hematpur under Ara Muffassil police station. Later, police lodged a named FIR under Prohibition and Excise Act and sent them to the jail.
SHO, Khwaspur Police Outpost, Ashutosh Kumar, said that he got information that a big consignment of IMFL was being brought over on two motorcycles from Balia in UP via Khakhan Ke Dera. He immediately cordoned off the area and intercepted the motorcycles. During search, police found 792 bottles of IMFL in a bag.
Police also conducted raids at different houses at Agiaw Bazaar village under Agiaw Bazaar police station on August 12, 2018, night, and seized IMFL packed in 52 cartons and 16 gunny bags worth about Rs 40,000 and arrested Krishna Sah and Laxman Sah of Agiaw Bazaar village in this connection while Kamlesh Singh escaped. Later, police sent them to jail.
