Police seize 45 cartons IMFL & Car in Kaimur, 2 liquor smugglers nabbed

Bhabhua : Police arrested two liquor smugglers and seized 45 cartons of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and a car from their possession at Mohania Check post on NH-2 in the late evening on February 24, 2020, late evening, under Mohania police station in Kaimur District.

The arrested liquor smugglers were identified as Kaushal Kumar Jain alias Gappu, a trader at Ara, and his employee Pappu Prasad. An FIR has been lodged by Mohania police station against them under the Prohibition & Excise Act and they were   sent to jail after interrogation.

SHO, Mohania police station, said that Kaushal Kumar Jain alias Gappu Jain, son of late Krishna Kumar Jain and grandson of  businessman late Harkhen Kumar Jain, had a jewellery shop “Krishna Jewellers” at Gopali Chowk under Ara Town police station and a Haldiram Restaurant at Pakari Chowk under Nawada police station, Ara, in Bhojpur district. “But due to loss in the business, he had to sell his Jewelelry shop and wind up his restaurant. Even his home was sold to pay loans. After that, he joined liquor business along with his employee Pappu Prakash to pay loans and to run his family and started liquor smuggling, “the SHO said.

The SHO said that Kaushal Kumar Jain admitted during interrogation that had had earlier smuggled the IMFL twice from Uttar Pradesh and supplied the same to a number of businessmen at Ara through his employee Pappu Prakash and earned heavy amount and this was his third foray into liquor smuggling. The SHO further said that Kaushal Kumar Jain smuggled 45 cartons of IMFL in a car registered in the name of Binita Srivastava, wife of Chhalia Srivastava. Binita Srivastava had reportedly sold the car to Kaushal Kumar Jain but the car had not yet been transferred in his name  by the Bhojpur District Transport office. Taking advantage of this, Kaushal Kumar Jain used the car in IMFL smuggling.
