Patna : World No 134 Prajnesh Gunneswaran, 30, India, lost to World No 96 Dennis Novak, 26, Austria, in the first round of Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, an ATP Tour 500 outdoor hard  courts event, at Dubai, UAE, on February 25, 2020. Qualifier Novak beat Prajnesh in straight sets 6-4, 6-3 to enter the second round of the tournament. World No 1 & top seed Novak Djokovic, 32, Serbia, entered the 2nd round on February 24, 2020.

Novak won 4 break points in the match to 2 by Prajnesh. He also won 3 games in a row to 2 by the Indian. Prajnesh served 3 Aces in the match to 2 by the Austrian.
