Ara:  Bhojpur police,  on a tip off,   conducted a raid at a coffee house at Chitratoli road under Town police station in the afternoon on Tuesday and arrested three girls and three boys besides the  owner of the coffee house.

Bhojpur SP Kshtranil Singh said he was tipped off that sex racket was being run at a coffee house at Zamira market near Chitratoli road locality and he immediately formed a police team under the ASP (operations) Md Sajid and the Women Police Station SHO Poonam Kumari. The police team raided the coffee house in the afternoon and arrested three couples in objectionable position. The police also arrested four persons including the owner of the coffee house. The SP ssaid that the police also seized several used and unused condoms, medicines, lottery tickets, mobiles and cash from the spot. The arrested persons were identified as Amresh Kumar Singh alias Guddu, owner, Avinash Kumar Soni, Manjeet Kumar, Sandeep Kumar Gupta, Aditya Kumar, Bablu, Sandeep Kumar, Ravi Kumar and Akbar Khan. The identity of the girls were not disclosed.

Locals said the  sex racket was going on right under the nose of police administration almost in every locality. Hundreds of boys and girls can be seen assembling at restaurants and coffee houses in Ara daily by paying Rs 500 to Rs 1,000 to the owners. Such restaurants have mushroomed at Ara and they provide safe places to love birds. As the police raided the coffee houses, ‘Three Rivers’ at Babu Bazaar and Maya Restaurant at Mahavir Tola, other such restaurants were closed and their owners fled from the scene.

In November 2015, the police had raided Blue Heaven restaurant in Nawada locality under Nawada police station and had arrested at least 27 boys and girls in objectionable position. The police had sent the boys to jail but released the girls after filling up bond. A  boy, who was sent to jail in this connection, came into contact with some criminals and after coming out from jail, he allegedly threw bomb at NS Mall on April 29, 2016, sources said.
