Police fail to arrest kidnapping accused due villagers’ protest

Buxar : Buxar police, who with the help of their Bhojpur counterpart conducted raid at village Malaur under Charpokhari police station on May 15, 2017, to arrest a miscreant wanted in a kidnapping case, had to face strong protest from the villagers. The villagers attacked police force and forced them to retreat. Later, reinforcement was sent there to bring the situation under control. In the melee, the miscreant escaped from the village.

A named FIR of kidnapping was lodged with Buxar Town police station in Buxar district against Jag Narayan Paswan of village Malaur under Charpokhari police station in Bhojpur district. Buxar police was tipped off that the miscreant had come to his village and so a police team from Buxar came and with the help of their Bhojpur counterpart conducted raid at Malaur to arrest Jag Narayan Paswan but the villagers came to his rescue. The villagers said that police was harassing and trying to implicate an innocent person in a false case.
