Patna: Police arrested two criminals in connection with recent dacoities under Kankerbagh, Ramkrishna Nagar, and Jakkanpur police stations, Patna, and recovered looted ornaments including gold and silver, Rs 33,900 cash, four cellphones, and the bike used in the crime.
Police said that a group of 8-10 criminals entered the house of one Ravidra Rajak on Road number-3 in East Indira Nagar under Kankerbagh police station on February 27, 2019, night and after taking family members hostages looted cash and ornaments from there. An FIR was lodged with Kankerbagh police station in this connection.
As the investigation of Kankerbagh dacoity case was still in progress, a dacoity took place at a house at Sorangpur under Ramkrishna Nagar PS and another house in PC Colony under Kankerbagh PS on March 11, 2019, night.
Taking serious note of the incidents, Patna SSP constituted an SIT headed by City SP (East) to crack these cases of dacoity. The  SIT arrested notorious gangster Ajit Sahni alias Ajit Kumar alias Lallu and his associate Ranjit Paswan with a cuntrymade
pistol and four live cartridges on March 15. The bike used by them in the crime was also seized by SIT.

During interrogation, Ajit Sahni confessed his involvement in dacoity cases and revealed the names of his associates. He also told police that he had sold looted jewellary to one Gautam Kumar alias Gautam Sonar, who owns a jewellery shop-Maa Jagdamba Jewellers- in  Telpa Bazaar locality. Acting on the revelations made by Ajit Sahni, a police team conducted raid at
Gautam’s shop and recovered looted gold and silver ornaments from there and arrested Gautam.
