Ara: Bhojpur police, on a tip off, conducted raid at some brothels at Dharman Chowk area about 100 metre away from  Town police station, Ara, on Saturday evening and arrested 17 girls, women and six owners for their immoral acts.

The arrested owners included Santu Kumar, son of Baiju Kumar of Maner in Patna district, Binod Kumar, son of Kamta Prasad, Ram Ji Prasad of Magahia Toal in Mahadeva,  Ara, Ravi Rai, son of Bijendra Rai of Tilath in Piro, and Murari Kumar, son of Ram Deo Singh, of Udwantnagar.

Bhojpur SP Kshatranil Singh said that he got information that teenage girls were forced into immoral acts at brothels located in Dharman Chowk area under Town police station. He immediately formed a police team led by ASP ( Operations) Md Sajid and comprising DSP (probation) Reshu Krishna, SHO Woman police station, Poonam Kumari, and SDPO Sanjay Kumar. The police team along with heavy police force carried out raids at some brothels  in the evening on Saturday.

The SP said that the DSP (Probation) Reshu Krishna entered the brothel along with the SHO Woman Police Station first of all and caught 17 women and teenage girls indulging in immoral acts. He said that the women hurled choicest abuses at them and also had scuffle with the police officials during raids. He said the arrested women, girls and owners were interrogated. It was said that the owners of the brothels had enticed the teenage girls to send them abroad after making their passport but dragged them in flesh trade instead.
