Ara: Four teenage boys  drowned in swollen Gnaga at two different places in Bhojpur district on Saturday evening when they went to take a dip. Later, the villagers fished out bodies of the boys and admitted them to Primary Health Centre (PHC) but the doctors there declared them brought dead. Police brought the bodies to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.

Three teenage boys:  Deepak Chaudhary , 13, son of Jitendra Chaudhary, Suraj Chaudhary, 14, son of Sanjay Chaudhary of Parsaundha-Karaila village under Shahpur block, and Vishla Mishra, 14, son of Sri Kirshna Mishra of Sonbarsa village under Shahpur police station, had gone to take bath in swollen Ganga on Saturday but they were swept away by  the current and drowned. The villagers, who were working in the field, rushed and tried to save the boys but in vain. Later, they fished out the bodies. SHO, Karnamepur police outpost, said that all the three children had gone to Sonbarsa Middle School and after their school was over, they came near the river and started taking bath in river Ganga in spate and met their watery grave.

After fishing out the bodies, the villagers took them to the Primary Health Centre and went on rampage when the doctors there declared them brought dead. Later, the Civil Surgeon reached there in the late evening and pacified the  villagers.

In another incident, Rohit Kumar, son Sagar Kumar,of Gazipur village under under Barahara bock drowned in the Ganga while taking bath on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Shahpur MLA Rahul Tiwari alias Mantu Tiwari, met the members of bereaved families of three teenage boys and with the help of the Jagdishpur SDO Bal Mukund gave a cheque of Rs 4 lakh to each family under disaster management. Barahra MLA Saroj Yadav also met the bereaved family and demanded a cheque of Rs 4 lakh to the family of Rohit Kumar.
